Question: How to configure a Gmail account with Evolution Mail using Gmail's POP3 and SMTP server?

Answer:

Login to the Gmail website. http://www.google.com/mail
Once logged in, click on Settings
Click on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab
Make sure that POP is enabled in the POP Download section
Once POP downloading has been enabled or was already enabled exit the Gmail website
Open Evolution Mail
Click on Edit and then on Preferences
Click on Add
Click on Forward
Enter your Full Name, your Gmail email address and all Optional Information. Once done click on Forward
Set the following values.
Server Type : POP
Server : pop.gmail.com or pop.googlemail.com
Username : youraddress@gmail.com
Use Secure Connection : SSL encryption
Remember Password : check the checkbox

Once done click on Forward
In the next screen select the relevant Receiving Options and click on Forward
The next screen will be the Sending Email options. Set the following values
Server Type : SMTP
Server : smtp.gmail.com or smtp.googlemail.com
Server requires authentication : check the checkbox
Use Secure Connection : SSL encryption
Username : youraddress@gmail.com
Remember Password : check the checkbox

Once done click on Forward.
Give your Email Account a name and click on Forward
Click on Apply and you've successfully setup your Gmail account with Evolution Mail
