Answer: 

Press ALT+F2 together on your Keyboard then type gconf-editor and click Run

On the left hand side of the window expand apps->nautilus->preferences , check the checkbox next to always_use_location_entry and close the window.

When you open Nautilus, the location entry will always be visible
